Manchester City are said to have made a contract offer to Lionel Messi, by Le10 Sport.
Offer made
Messi shocked the world yesterday when it was announced that he would be leaving Barcelona.
That has snapped multiple clubs into action, with both City and PSG quickly linked.
And reports in France suggest that Pep Guardiola’s side are the first side to make a meaningful move.
They say that City’s contract offer is the only one that Messi currently has on the table.
The contract offer proposed by the Citizens apparently lasts for three years, with the first two being spent at the Etihad.
Messi will then spend the last year of his deal at New York City, which will give him the chance to play in America.
Could it be true?

Now, just how true these reports are – given that City have just spent £100 million on Jack Grealish – remains to be seen.
If Messi was to join City at this point there would appear no obvious hole for him to fill in their squad, unless he was used as a false nine.
But Messi and Guardiola posses a strong relationship and City’s board also hugely admirer the Argentine.
With Messi on the market, it may be that City have just decided that the opportunity to sign arguably the world’s greatest ever player is too good to turn down.
And it will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the coming days, if City’s offer has now been made.
