Manchester City are reportedly eyeing a move to sign German youth international Dzenan Pejcinovic, with the 17-year-old striker currently a free agent after leaving Augsburg.

According to Bild, Pep Guardiola’s side are one of the numerous clubs chasing Pejcinovic, who is regarded by many in Germany as one of the country’s most exciting talents, with the report even dubbing the teenager as a ‘super talent’.

As per Bild, VfL Wolfsburg are chasing Pejcinovic as well as Juventus, with the Italian giants arguably City’s biggest challengers when it comes to signing the promising attacker, though staying in Germany is currently viewed as the forward’s preferred choice.

With City this week announcing the signing of Kalvin Phillips, the Manchester giants appear far from finished with their summer business, especially with numerous youth players departing the Premier League champions this summer, namely Gavin Bazunu and Romeo Lavia.

Indeed, Liam Delap and James McAtee are set to go out on loan for next season, meaning that City’s U-23s could do with an attacker, which is where Pejcinovic, who is of Montenegro descent, could come into the picture for the English giants.

The striker bagged 13 goals last season in all competitions in the German youth leagues, and for City, signing Pejcinovic for the future could be a great move for the club, especially with the 17-year-old available for free this summer.

With Pejcinovic available for free this summer and City now chasing the youngster, the Premier League giants could consider them favourites to sign the forward, especially given their youth situation for next season.

Indeed, City have done an incredible job with their academy in recent years, and adding Pejcinovic to the project will give the Manchester side an insurance over having a potential superstar striker for the coming years.
