Manchester City are being linked with a move for Yves Bissouma at Premier League rivals Brighton.

According to the Daily Star, Man City want to sign in the central midfield position this summer due to the fact Fernandinho’s future is still not resolved beyond the end of the season.

It is understood that Man City manager Pep Guardiola is targeting a £30million swoop for Brighton’s ace after watching him several times this campaign.

The report states that league rivals Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and Tottenham are also tracking the 24-year-old, but Guardiola is confident he can win the race for his signature by tempting him to the Etihad Stadium.

Additionally, Brighton are resigned to losing their midfield powerhouse, but want to double the money they paid for him by sticking to a £30million price tag.

The Seagulls signed Bissouma for £15million (Sky Sports) from Lille back in 2018, and he’s turned out to be a brilliant addition at the Amex Stadium.

He’s an all-action central midfielder that has brilliant stamina and is aggressive with his defensive work in front of the backline, but is also technically sound with the ball at his feet capable of making a real impact in possession.

TBR’s View:

As solid as Brighton are as a Premier League club, someone of Bissouma’s quality looks destined to play at a more elite level.

The Mali international continues to keep getting better as a real combative midfielder, and his game his tailor-made for the Premier League with his strength and running power.

Man City currently have Fernandinho and Rodri as superb defensive midfielders in their squad, but Bissouma is a Rolls-Royce player that could be an excellent addition to Guardiola’s squad for a bargain £30million this summer.
