Report: Man Utd given hope in pursuit of exciting Brazilian winger
According to the Daily Star, Manchester United are set to test Lazio’s determination to keep Brazilian midfielder Felipe Anderson. Reports suggest that Louis van Gaal’s side, who have been scouting the 22-year-old for some time, are set to launch a £30 million assault ahead of the new season.
Anderson had previously brushed aside talk linking him with a move away from Italy, insisting his future remains with the Serie A side. However, the Red Devils have been given hope in their pursuit of the talented Lazio attacking midfielder, due to the club’s interest in 31-year-old striker Robin van Persie.
With the Dutchman’s Old Trafford future in doubt, and with the Italian outfit the leading contenders for his signature, he could form part of the United’s proposed deal for Felipe Anderson. There is not yet the suggestion of a swap deal. However, reports suggests that situation could quickly change.
The Brazilian was sensational as Lazio secured a return to the Champions League with a third place finish in Serie A, and it comes as little surprise to see him being linked with clubs as prestigious as Manchester United. Considering he scored 10 goals, while fashioning a further seven assists, in 32 appearances this term, he would certainly be a welcome arrival at Old Trafford.
