Spanish website Informa Futbol have claimed that free agent Malang Sarr has chosen to join either Arsenal or Real Betis over moves to Torino or Valencia – but the Gunners could be scuppered in a move by Nabil Fekir.
Sarr, 21, had clocked up 119 senior appearances for Nice before deciding not to renew his contract with Patrick Vieira’s side. It has seen the France Under-21 international become one of the hottest free agents out there.
The report states that Arsenal, Real Betis, Torino and Valencia are all interested in landing Sarr on a free. But he does not want to move to Valencia as they are undergoing a transition, while Torino have also been overlooked.
That is because the Turin-based side sit in 16th in Serie A with one game to play. Arsenal and Betis are Sarr’s choices, with the Gunners boasting more financial fire power. But Betis ace Fekir could see Arsenal miss out.
France international and former Lyon man Fekir has urged his side to complete the signing of Sarr. An offer is on the table from Betis, while Arsenal are yet to table a deal. TransferMarkt claim he has the same agent as Romelu Lukaku.

TBR’s view – Sarr would be a sensational signing on a free
He would be an excellent signing even if he was still contracted to Nice and Arsenal would be forced to pay a fee. To have played more than 100 times for Nice at senior level despite being just 21 is proof enough.
A left-footed centre-back, he is just what Arsenal need. Surely, if the Gunners can beat Chelsea in the FA Cup and qualify for European football, they have a chance of beating Betis to Sarr?
