Aaron Ramsdale could not help but get out of his seat and applaud Bernd Leno after the Arsenal goalkeeper made a save during the first-half of their FA Cup tie with Nottingham Forest on Sunday, according to Football London.
The Gunners were knocked out of the competition by Steve Cooper’s side. It was a humbling result for Arsenal, who have enjoyed a lot of success in the tournament in recent years.

In truth, the writing looked to be on the wall for some time before Lewis Grabban scored the winner. And it was only the performance of Leno that stopped Forest from going ahead much sooner.
Of course, Leno would have been desperate to keep Arsenal in the competition. Aaron Ramsdale has stamped his authority on the number one spot at the Emirates. So the FA Cup represented a massive opportunity for the German.
Some clubs may have a number one goalkeeper who would be in two minds about their understudy impressing when they get a chance. But not Arsenal.

Ramsdale has been a revelation since moving to North London. And it is his attitude away from the pitch that has won as many admirers as his performances on it.
And Football London claims that he was out of his seat eagerly applauding Leno – who Mikel Arteta labelled ‘magnificent‘ after his performance in the same round a year ago – when he was making saves at the City Ground.
Aaron Ramsdale can do nothing wrong as he wins plaudits without playing for Arsenal
It is remarkable to think about how the entire football world reacted to Arsenal pursuing Ramsdale. But there is not one person who has not had to take a slice of humble pie in the months since.
Ramsdale looks to have been such an important signing for the Gunners. And Sunday proved that further – even without the goalkeeper kicking the ball for Arteta’s men.
