Report: 'Magic' player is about to be released after being linked with Arsenal move
Isco has been linked with a move to Arsenal or Tottenham in January and he is set to be released by Sevilla.
Spanish outlet Marca claim that Sevilla are set to cut short the deal that Isco signed during the summer when Julen Lopetegui was manager.
Lopetegui has since left for Wolves and Isco’s two-year contract is set to be torn up so he can move as a free agent next month.
The Sun linked both north London clubs with an interest in Isco lately, but it remains to be seen if they would swoop on a free transfer.
Isco set to be released
The report also says that Lopetegui could look to bring Isco to Molineux during his first transfer window in charge at the club.
He also apparently has interest from other leagues too, and his next move will depend on how he balanced his salary demands with the desire for a hugely competitive league.
In truth, it seems Arsenal and Spurs have greater priority targets but if an agreeable wage package could be agreed, Isco may be an appealing free agent.
Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is clearly a fan of Isco, calling him ‘magic‘ and saying he can be one of the best midfielders in the world.
This early release shows that Isco has lost his way but at his best, he has a huge amount of quality and the ability to play in a variety of positions.
Arsenal seem to be prioritising a new winger next month, while Spurs could push on with signing a new forward in light of Richarlison’s injury.
