Lucas Torreira is set to sit down with Unai Emery to discuss his future at Arsenal after growing frustrated with his current role.
As reported by TMW, the Uruguay international is dissatisfied at the moment and will speak with Emery next week.
The 23-year-old could apparently push for an exit if he does not leave the meeting with a clearer picture.
Torreira has been used largely as a substitute this season, with young Matteo Guendouzi emerging as a big favourite of the Spaniard.
He’s made just three Premier League starts so far, and has at times been used in an unfamiliar role of attacking midfield.
TBR’s view – Torreira’s game time to pick up?
Perhaps Torreira’s concerns will be eased following the Granit Xhaka situation.
After being stripped of the captaincy, it seems the 27-year-old could struggle to be a regular in the side again, and in theory defensive-minded Torreira is the likeliest replacement.
It’ll be important for Emery to play £75,000-a-week star Torreira (Spotrac) in his correct position, as he simply cannot be at his most effective when playing on the shoulder of the main striker.
