Lucas Torreira is open to pushing to stay at Arsenal next season, but The Athletic reports that he wants assurances over game-time before committing to staying put.
Torreira has endured a frustrating time over the last couple of years. He struggled to hold down a place in the Arsenal team last season.

A loan move to Atletico Madrid seemed to divide some of the fans. Some were resigned to the feeling that he needed to leave the Emirates. Others however, seemed to suggest that it would prove a mistake to let the 25-year-old go.
Unfortunately for Torreira, he has not managed to make Mikel Arteta rue the decision. He has appeared 15 times in La Liga this term.
However, he has only made three starts. Remarkably, he has not completed 90 minutes since his debut.

It would be a surprise if Atleti looked to extend his stay in the Spanish capital. But it also seems difficult to imagine Torreira returning to the fold at the Emirates.
It is not however, a possibility that the midfielder has ruled out. The Athletic has reported that he would be open to choosing to stay at Arsenal next season.
However, it is also claimed that he would need to feel confident that he was going to get chances in the team.
TBR View: Atletico loan may force Arsenal’s hand
As things stand, it is difficult to see anyone meeting Arsenal’s asking price for Torreira. They did not sell him permanently last year. And he has not kicked on while out on loan.
Perhaps another loan may be a possibility. But his poor time in Spain may force Arsenal’s hand somewhat and make keeping him seem the better option this time around.
