Celtic are reportedly mulling over a loan request for Hoops midfielder Ewan Henderson, according to the Evening Telegraph.

Dundee have apparently got in touch with Celtic over the 20-year-old, and are awaiting a decision.

Championship clubs, along with Leagues One and Two, can still sign players on loan until the end of February despite the transfer window closing on Monday night.

First team opportunities for Henderson have been few and far between this season, but he has impressed in flashes and is considered a key part of Celtic’s future.

To date, the Celtic academy has made 10 competitive senior appearances for the Bhoys, and is contract to Parkhead until the summer of 2022.

Henderson is a talented prospect who former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers previously deemed a “big talent” who “just needs maturation and experience”.

Since those comments, made in 2019 around the time the player penned a new contract, he hasn’t exactly kicked on, with just three competitive appearances all season.

However, Lennon reportedly hopes he will be a part of the inevitable rebuild with the arrival of new chief executive Dominic McKay, as per the Glasgow Times.

It’s probably worth while sending Henderson on loan, get him more experience and, if he does well, look to give him more game time in 2021-22.
