Liverpool are looking into a deal for Carlos Joaquin Correa, according to reports. CittaCeleste is suggesting that the Lazio forward has caught the eye this season with his performances in Rome and that Liverpool are considering him as a potential attacking option.
The report even suggests how Liverpool plan on reducing the asking price for the Argentine attacker.
Correa currently carries an €80 million (£70m) release clause. However, Liverpool are hopeful of signing him for a fee in the region of €60 million (£52m).
They plan on getting Lazio to agree to such a reduction by removing their current sell-on clause they can still claim on Luis Alberto.

The Brendan Rodgers signing was sold to Lazio by Jurgen Klopp in 2016. As reported by the BBC, the £4.3 million deal also saw Liverpool maintain a 30 percent sell-on clause. Considering Alberto is now valued at the same price-range as Correa, that could be a sizable sum should Lazio eventually sell the Spaniard.
Correa is, however, the sort of player who would thrive at Liverpool. His relentless pressing attitude and technical ability would suit Klopp’s style of play at Anfield.
Liverpool are reportedly only in the market for Timo Werner, but Correa would also be an exciting option should the Reds follow up on this reported interest.
