Liverpool coaches think that Kostas Tsimikas is going to be much improved during his second season at Anfield, the Athletic report.
Chances improving
Tsimikas struggled in his first season at Liverpool to receive any game time at all, after making a £12 million move (Sky).
The left-back was brought to Anfield to provide cover for Andy Robertson, but he never really was given a chance – with injury also thwarting his progress.
Tsimikas did impress in Liverpool’s friendly last night against Bologna, though.
And there is said to be a belief among the staff that he is ‘better equipped’ to make an impact this time around.
A boost for Liverpool?
If Tsimikas does emerge as a genuine option in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team then it should be a boost.

Liverpool’s defensive options were found wanting last season, after multiple injuries.
But they have now bolstered their options at centre-back and with their full-backs also looking strong, they could prove even tougher to beat.
That will be crucial as Liverpool lost plenty of ground on Manchester City last term, and if they are to compete with Pep Guardiola’s side next time around, then they will simply have to improve.
