Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is reportedly being watched by Italian giants AC Milan and Lazio, with the player’s contract at Anfield expiring.
Apparently the Rossoneri actually considered making a move for the £25 million man (BBC Sport) in January, and may go back in for him in the summer if no extension is agreed.
Calciomercato suggest Lazio could be in with a shout of landing the player, especially if they secure Champions League qualification.
Lallana has been on the fringes for a couple of years at Anfield, and has made 19 appearances in all competitions this term.
It can be argued Jurgen Klopp’s gegenpress tactics have favoured the likes of workhorses Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum much more than the technical Lallana.
TBR’s view – Italian job would be better for Liverpool
Liverpool may be fairly powerless to decide where Lallana goes this summer, but they should hope he heads to Italy rather than to a rival in the Premier League.
It’s been reported that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both keen – perhaps neither will be threats to Liverpool, but the Reds would surely still see him head elsewhere.
The Serie A could be a nice move for Lallana as the Italian top-flight is notoriously slower and more technical than the English Premier League.
