Liverpool are set to release Conor Masterson this summer, according to a report by The Liverpool Echo. The young defender is set to depart Anfield without a senior appearance to his name.
Masterson joined Liverpool back in 2014 after moving from Lucan United, near Dublin. He has come through the ranks at Liverpool, featuring regularly for the youth sides.
The Republic of Ireland U21 starlet was a regular for the U18 and U23 teams at Liverpool, prompting him to be promoted last summer.
Masterson trained with the first-team squad at Melwood and has been named on the bench in the Champions League. He also made the bench for the Premier League clash with Everton later in the 2017/18 season.

But he never made his debut for the Reds. And after five years at the club, it looks like Masterson will be parting ways with Liverpool.
Injuries have held back his progress in 2018/19. This has seen Ki-Jan Hoever jump above him in the pecking order and make his first-team debut in the cup.
With senior opportunities looking limited, Masterson will need to pursue his career elsewhere. The 20-year-old has never been out on loan so his next challenge will be stepping into the world of first-team football, wherever he ends up.
