Talented Liverpool defender Adam Lewis is seemingly on his way to French side Amiens on a season-long loan deal.
That is according to a report from the Daily Record, who suggest the talented youngster is all set to depart and play his football in the French second-tier next season.
Amiens were relegated from Ligue 1 last season and will be hoping to bounce straight back. However, a new left-back has been on their radar throughout the summer and they have apparently settled on Lewis.
It also has ramifications for Celtic. The Bhoys were hoping to offload controversial left-back Boli Bolingoli to the French side, who recently had former Parkhead youngster Calvin Miller on trial.
However, the arrival of Lewis would seemingly suggest that deal will not be going ahead.
Liverpool certainly think highly of the 20-year-old and this will be his first loan spell away from the club.
Indeed, his former under-18s manager Steven Gerrard hailed him as the best attacking left-back he has ever seen at 18 back in 2017.
“If Adam can keep this consistency up I don’t think he’ll be around this team for much longer, ” Gerrard told the Liverpool FC website. “I want to keep him for as long as I can, but for me, he’s such a threat on the left side.
“Going forward, I haven’t seen anyone as good as him at that age, “In terms of quality and what he can deliver in the final third.”

Lewis spoke last month about his hopes of heading out on loan this season and it appears those hopes are set to be realised.
“I would like to get out on loan, which is my aim for next season to get that experience,” Lewis told Liverpool FC’s official website. “Sometimes people will ask me why aren’t I at Melwood or training with the first team, but you’ve got to realise you are playing for the best team in the world..
“This is probably one of the hardest teams to get into right now, so getting out on loan and being around a senior environment will help me as a player because I’ll be training with men.”
Any chance of regular first-team football as Andrew Robertson’s back-up was recently extinguished by the arrival of Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiakos.
So this is perhaps the best move for the England under-20 international as he looks to gain some valuable first-team experience.
