Dutch outlet Voetbal International – as reported by 90Min – claim that Liverpool are at the ‘front of the queue’ to sign PSV Eindhoven Donyell Malen despite interest from European heavyweights including Barcelona and Juventus.
Malen’s name might be familiar to some eagle-eye Premier League supporters having spent two years in Arsenal’s academy between 2015 and 2017, before moving to PSV. He has since broken into PSV’s first team, and starred.
The eight-time Netherlands international has clocked up a whopping 53 goals in 112 appearances for the Eredivisie side – who currently sit in second place but are 12 points behind Ajax with five league games still to play.
Malen, though, has been sensational – scoring 25 goals in 41 games for PSV. The report claims Liverpool are winning the race to sign Malen, with a fee of £25million said to be enough for the striker. He has a contract until 2024.

TBR’s view – Malen would be a sensational Liverpool signing
But for Malen, surely he will want to play regular football. At Liverpool, he will have seen Divock Origi start to rot on the sidelines and with Diogo Jota the go-to man to replace one of any of the front three, Malen would be behind him.
So, while he would be an excellent signing and is easily worth £25million, Malen himself needs to join a team where he is first choice to continue his development. At Liverpool, he will not be in the starting line-up – yet.
TransferMarkt claim he is looked after by super agent Mino Raiola.
