Liverpool will reportedly keep tabs on Brighton defender Ben White during the new Premier League season, as they decide whether or not they want to try sign him next summer.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp’s side have been monitoring the English centre-back over the last year during his loan spell with Leeds United, who he helped earn promotion to the top-flight.
It is claimed that the Reds weren’t in a financial position this summer to try sign the 22-year-old from Premier League rivals Brighton.
But the report explains that the Merseyside giants will monitor him over the course of the next year to see how he copes with top-flight football.
White has just signed a new four-year deal with Brighton, but he was heavily linked with a move to Leeds and Sky Sports reported that a £25million bid was rejected for him.

TBR’s View:
It looks like Liverpool are playing the long game with White, but he’s a highly-rated talent that dominated in the Championship last year and it makes sense to see if he can now make the step up in the top-tier.
He’s a ball-playing defender that was a major success at Elland Road with his leadership, authoritative style and quality in playing out from the back.
Liverpool certainly shouldn’t have any issues trying to tempt players to Anfield in the future and perhaps White will be someone they try sign next summer, as the potential is definitely there and he should suit the Brighton system.
