Jurgen Klopp will try and take Wolves star Adama Traore to Liverpool if Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah seek a move away from Anfield, according to The Sun on Sunday (29/03; page 65).
The Reds aren’t anticipating any high-profile sales but it would appear contingency plans are being put in place regardless.
Traore has enjoyed a brilliant campaign at Molineux and was called ‘unbelievable’ by Klopp after the two sides met in January (Goal).
The 24-year-old has scored six goals and registered 10 assists during his 43 appearances in all competitions this season.
It is thought that the Spaniard is valued at £70 million and that would represent a significant profit on the £18 million Wolves paid Middlesbrough for his services.
There is talk that Traore is on the cusp of making his debut for Spain when football resumes and his ferocious form has got people talking.
It would take big shoes to fill any void left by Mane or Salah but one thing Traore isn’t lacking in is confidence.
Spending £70 million on Traore might be a surprise but he is quickly becoming a proven Premier League performer.
Klopp is known for squeezing every last drop of potential and talent out of his players and Traore could thrive under his management.
It would take a brave player to reject the chance to play for Liverpool at the moment and Wolves will be anxiously monitoring the future of Salah and Mane.
Traore has highlighted just how good he can be this season with a series of eye-catching performances.
He boats serious speed, the ability to beat his man and is ridiculously strong.
Liverpool will want to continue their dominance next season and as a result, Traore would be a steady signing if the Reds do decide to go for him.
