Italian outlet Passione Inter have claimed that Liverpool want to raid Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan to sign wonderkid defender Alessandro Bastoni, but faces competition from both Barcelona and Manchester City.
Bastoni, 20, joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2017 from Atalanta for a fee CalcioMercato claim was worth £28million. He returned to Atalanta for the 2017-18 season, before playing 24 times for Parma on loan in 2018-19.
Returning to the Nerrazzuri at the start of this campaign, Bastoni has since been in and out of the Inter side – clocking up 17 appearances in all competitions. He has earned the trust of Conte, and is even being linked with an Italy call-up.
With Dejan Lovren expected to leave the club this summer, Bastoni is being eyed as his replacement. It remains to be seen how much he would cost interested parties – but he is certainly interesting Europe’s best sides.

TBR’s view – Lovren out, Bastoni in, is stunning business
If Liverpool could afford him. Given that he joined for quite a considerable sum, Inter will know they have a serious wonderkid on their hands. Given they do not need the money, he could command an enormous fee.
If Lovren does leave the club this summer, there are a number of young central defenders that Klopp may go for – but Bastoni is certainly an excellent option for the Premier League’s elect.
