Report: Liverpool interested in 31-cap star who loves Pep Guardiola
Liverpool are said to be keen on signing Bayern Munich and France star, Kingsley Coman, during the summer transfer window.
Fussball Transfers makes the claim, citing Sport1 as suggesting the Reds are looking into the prospect of landing Coman this summer.
Coman, 25, has been a huge success in Munich. He’s racked up an impressive six league titles, while he also helped himself to a Champions League along the way as well.
It is claimed that Liverpool have already held some talks about bringing Coman to Anfield. The winger, who can play both right and left, would slot in nicely into Jurgen Klopp’s system.
However, Liverpool fans shouldn’t get their hopes up too much. Fussball Transfers claim Bayern want around 100m Euros (£85m) for Coman.
The Reds will simply not be paying that sum. Especially for a player who might not even dislodge the first-choices in his position at the club.
Coman appeared 29 times for Bayern in the league last season. He hit five goals but his 12 assists were more eye-catching in the stats column.
Liverpool have already moved to sign Ibrahima Konate this summer. The big defender arrived from RB Leipzig, and is expected to be first-choice alongside Virgil van Dijk.
Kingsley Coman a fine player but one Liverpool can’t afford
Especially at £85m. If the Frenchman was available for less, then it might be a deal worth looking into.
Coman is a class act, mind. He’s the sort of player top clubs should look at, and he’s worked under some of the very best coaches. Pep Guardiola is one of those he’s worked with, and Coman has previously admitted his admiration for the City boss.
For now, Liverpool have other priorities. Landing Coman would be a bonus but seems so unlikely. Expect this one to die down as quickly as it started.
