Liverpool have reportedly made Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore their number one target for the summer.
That is according to The Sun, who suggest that Jurgen Klopp has placed the Spanish attacker at the top of his transfer wishlist.
Liverpool are believed to want another attacker this summer, in order to relieve the pressure on the current front-three at Anfield.
Timo Werner of RB Leipzig has continuously been linked with fulfilling that role. However, this new report suggests that Wolves’ star man is in fact the player Liverpool want.
Whilst it would undoubtedly be an exciting addition for the Reds, the report also makes it clear that Wolves would demand £60 million for the player and that Liverpool are hoping to be frugal in the next transfer window, owing to the current global health crisis.
Traore has been a revelation for Wolves this season and his devastating speed and power has left plenty of Premier League and Europa League defences in pieces.
Even Liverpool’s German boss revealed his love for the player back in January. As reported by the Express and Star, he labelled the wing wizard ‘unplayable’ at times.
“And Traore is pretty much unplayable. I’ve said it a couple of times and it’s still true.
“He keeps the ball, holds the ball, and sets up goals obviously.”
Wolves will not be keen on the sale, but should Liverpool match their reported asking price, denying a transfer would not be easy.
With Klopp clearly a fan, it appears this is a transfer story that may have legs.
