Liverpool are very likely to add Thiago Alcantara to their ranks this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the Bayern Munich playmaker and a deal to bring him to Anfield now looks to be on.
Bayern are wanting around £27 million for the £206k-a-week midfielder and the 29-year-old is at the top of Jurgen Klopp’s summer shortlist.

Having won the league at a canter during 2019/20, it seems unlikely that Liverpool will spend a mega amount of money this summer.
Strength in depth will be a priority and any player who does check-in will need to work tirelessly to win a place in the starting eleven.
Alcantara has played in 36 matches for Bayern in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and registering two assists.
His versatility to operate as a holding midfielder or as a more natural central midfielder would make him ideal for Klopp’s three-man engine room.
Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Gini Wijnaldum and Naby Keita have all featured this season, with James Milner also playing there on occasions.
Alcantara would perhaps add something a little bit different alongside those players and Klopp clearly fancies him to do a job at Anfield.
TBR View – Alcantara might prove solid but unspectacular at Anfield
Liverpool fans might point to the fact that the midfield engine room is well-stocked at Anfield and with that in mind they might wonder why Thiago is being lined-up.

Although strength in depth is probably required, the need for cover is more evident in attacking areas than in midfield.
Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri flattered to deceive during 2019/20, whilst Takumi Minamino and Curtis Jones are still finding their feet at Premier League level.
Thiago can play but paying £27 million for a midfielder probably won’t excite Liverpool fans like another forward option would.
