Report: Liverpool told to pay club-record £101m, if they want to sign midfielder
90Min claim Borussia Dortmund have told Liverpool and any other clubs keen on Jude Bellingham, that the Englishman will cost a huge £101million.
Bellingham, 18, has been on fire once again this season for Dortmund – becoming a regular in the German outfit’s side. He scored on Saturday.
A brilliant solo run ended with Bellingham dinking the goalkeeper as Dortmund beat Arminia Bielefeld 3-1. His ninth goal involvements of 21-22.
The midfielder has three goals and six assists in 14 appearances. At just 18, and with eight England caps under his belt, his price tag is likely to be huge.
Liverpool are firm admirers, as per 90Min, with Klopp eyeing a raid on his old club to land Bellingham. Now, Dortmund’s price tag has been reported.
The report from 90Min claims Dortmund would want €120million, or £101million, for their teenage midfielder. A club record, for Liverpool.
Bellingham to Liverpool: Is the England star worth £101million?
It is a fee that would make him the most-expensive English footballer in history, eclipsing Jack Grealish £100million move to Manchester City, just.
Is he worth it? Bellingham is one of the best teenage talents in football right now. He is doing it in the Champions League, and has England caps.
He is producing form that is expected of a player in his prime. Clearly, Bellingham is going to get better – so, £101million is hardly expensive.
That is, considering Liverpool could get more than 10 years out of Bellingham. At less than £10million a year, he is surely a no-brainer.
