CalcioMercato report that Liverpool will have to pay a huge £67.5million to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, with Juventus also keen.
Spain-born Serbia international Milinkovic-Savic has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League, though reports have died down of late.
A couple of decent, but perhaps unspectacular seasons in which he produced 19 goal involvements in 19-20 and 20-21 has kept clubs keen.
Indeed, CalcioMercato say Liverpool had a look at Milinkovic-Savic in the summer. Those admirers remain in the 26-year-old as January approaches.
The report says Juventus are leading the race to sign the Lazio playmaker, who already has three goals and two assists in eight Serie A games.
Of course, Liverpool could do with an attacking midfielder. The loss of Gini Wijnaldum was not replaced – after the Dutchman moved to PSG.

Milinkovic-Savic to Liverpool: Asking price far too high
Lazio will obviously be keen to keep Milinkovic-Savic. A player that has played for Lazio 257 times since joining the club in 2015, he is a favourite.
In that time, he has scored 50 goals – one every five, and 40 assists, better than one every seven outings. He really is a top, top midfielder.
But he is worth close to club-record fee? No. A fair price for him would be around £45million to £50million. Some compromise is required.
The report says Liverpool will have to pay £67.5million but if that can be reduced to Lazio’s liking, then Liverpool have got to be on red alert.
