German newspaper Bild have claimed Liverpool are one of three sides interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz this summer, along with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Still only 20 years of age, Havertz was in sensational form for Leverkusen last season. The fully-fledged Germany international scored an impressive 20 goals in all competitions, as well as laying on seven assists.
His name has been constantly touted as a possible signing for one of Europe’s biggest clubs, and this summer is no different with Barcelona, Bayern and Liverpool all said to be keen on landing the young star.
It is believed Leverkusen will not sell Haverts for less than £90million if any interested parties become involved, with three years still left to run on his current deal. He has already played 105 times at senior level.
TBR’s view – Havertz would be amazing for Liverpool
Still young, Havertz has the world at his feet. Having more than 100 appearances to his name, and having a hand in 50 goals after scoring 28 times and creating 22 more assists in those outings.
Yes, Liverpool have an almost impenetrable front three of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino. But if any player is to break into the side, a young German is likely to progress and shine under Jurgen Klopp.
He is certainly expensive, but Havertz is one of the best young talents in European football.
