Report: Liverpool to step up pursuit of second fastest player in the Premier League
According to reports from Spain this weekend, Liverpool are ready to press ahead with their pursuit of Wolves winger, Adama Traore.
El Nacional make the claim, suggesting that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is desperate to bring the Wolves winger to Anfield if he can. Indeed, it’s not the first time Klopp has cast admiring glances at Traore.
Traore was a wanted man in the summer as well. At the time, Spurs were said to be preparing a £40m bid for the speedster. However, no deal was done, and Traore has remained at Wolves under Bruno Lage.
But with no new contract signed as yet, Liverpool are ready to push on with their pursuit of Traore once again. The Reds are desperate for quality in wide areas in order to cover for the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.
Traore would certainly fit the bill in terms of speed and power for the Reds squad. Just last year, Sportskeeda reported how Traore was the second fastest player in the league behind Kyle Walker.
TBR’s View: Now or never for Traore and Liverpool?
This seems to be one that’s rumbled on for quite some time now and really, you’d have to think it needs to happen soon. Well, that’s if Wolves are to get the best deal possible.
Traore’s deal is dwindling away by the month. He has just over a year left on his deal and Wolves would need to sell this coming summer to get maximum value.
In terms of Liverpool, you can see why they want Traore. He fits the bill perfectly, especially with Salah still yet to sign fresh terms himself.
