Report: Liverpool to rival Chelsea for Barcelona wonderkid Alejandro Balde
The teenager is wanted by several top European clubs.
Premier League champions Liverpool have joined Chelsea in the race to sign Barcelona talent Alejandro Balde, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.
The 17-year-old is typically a left-back and he was a regular in the team during the UEFA Youth League during 2019/20.
He made four appearances, registering one assist in a group consisting of Slavia Prague, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.

It is anticipated that Chelsea and Liverpool won’t be the only interested parties with plenty of other European clubs monitoring the player.
The Premier League outfits are trying to steal a march on their rivals though. It’s claimed that both have already approached the teenager’s representatives to enquire about his availability.
Balde is thought to be happy at Barcelona and believes he has considerable backing by the coaching staff at the football club.
Ronald Koeman appears keen to give the defender a chance in the first-team, with the club considering him a good future prospect.
Liverpool would be a particularly interesting move for the youngster.
Jurgen Klopp has showcased a willingness to call on youth during his Anfield tenure and that aspect would surely appeal.
The Premier League champions play an attractive brand of football and for a flying full-back, the prospect of playing for Liverpool must be mouthwatering.

Given that Barcelona are considering promoting the youngster to the first team it wouldn’t suggest any deal is close.
The lure of playing for Liverpool must be attractive to any player right now though – including Balde.

Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are currently vying for the left-back berth; with James Milner also capable of playing there.
Klopp always has one eye on the future though and it’s fair to say Balde could be a future star of the game.
With that in mind, Liverpool should continue asking questions regarding the youngster.
