According to a report from The Telegraph, Liverpool plan to offer Adam Lallana a new contract at Anfield, with the midfielder attracting interest from China and Major League Soccer.
Lallana already looks set to play a more important role for Jurgen Klopp’s men this term than he did last year. He has made five Premier League appearances this season, making his first start in the weekend win at Aston Villa. Last year, he played just 13 times in the top flight.

He has also scored what could prove to be a massive goal in the Reds’ season, coming off the bench to bag the late equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Telegraph reports that his contract expires next summer. And the league leaders are hoping to agree an extension. However, it appears that Liverpool are bracing themselves for some tempting offers also being on the table.

The Telegraph suggests Lallana is likely to be offered longer terms by clubs from China and America, and will have more guarantees over game-time than he will get on Merseyside.

It has been some time since Liverpool saw the best of Lallana – who earns £110,000-a-week, according to Spotrac. There have been glimpses since his return to the side. And it would be a shame for the Reds to lose him on a free.
But the Reds are now in a position where losing Lallana would arguably not be a huge blow. The report notes that Klopp is a big fan of Lallana’s versatility. But given that he is not a player who would feature in many Liverpool fans’ strongest lineups, he would not be impossible to replace.
And if a contract offer is on the table and Lallana decides to consider his options, then perhaps Liverpool should be ready to target players who can take his place next season.
