Liverpool are ready to make a £27m move for Ajax defender, Perr Schuurs, as Jurgen Klopp looks to beef up his squad and defensive options in January.
That is according to Corriere dello Sport, who claim the Reds are looking to make a move for the Dutch defender to soften the blow of losing both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

Schuurs, 21, is another to emerge from Ajax in recent times and has been a regular this season, appearing in all but one of the Dutch side’s games during the 20/21 campaign.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are desperate for a new defender following their nightmare injury news and have identified Schuurs as the ideal player to bring in for both the short and long-term.

The Reds will reportedly have to pay just shy of £30m for the Dutchman, who has made 11 appearances for his country at under-21 level and is already being eyed for a full call-up.
Needs must, Schuurs makes sense on all fronts – TBR View
Signing a defender who can slot straight in is tough but Liverpool might as well get someone who can do that and get better for the future as well.
That way, the pressure is off a bit if Schuurs does struggle a tad upon initially signing for the Reds. However, his talent and experience already at just 21 should enable him to make an impact.
Finally, £27m isn’t too big a fee for a player of this ability and potential. If Schuurs does sign, it would represent a huge January boost to Klopp and Liverpool.
