Premier League club Liverpool are eyeing a £26 million bid for Udinese playmaker Rodrigo De Paul, according to Tutto Udinese.
The 26-year-old has scored five goals and registered five assists during 2020/21 and has now emerged as a target for the reigning champions.
Liverpool’s title defence hasn’t gone according to plan and Jurgen Klopp knows he must enter the transfer market in the summer.
De Paul operates in the middle of the park and at 26-years-old he seems like a solid player for Liverpool to pursue.
The Argentine has captained Udinese this season and they don’t want to lose him on the cheap.
Udinese are thought to want more than £35 million for their player and Liverpool’s offer might need to be increased.
Inter were thought to be interested in his services, although they don’t boast the significant resources which Liverpool do.
De Paul has scored 30 goals and registered 30 assists for the Serie A outfit since arriving from Valencia in 2016.
Liverpool have Gini Wijnaldum out of contract in the summer and if he does leave the man with 19 caps to his name could be a decent replacement.
TBR View: De Paul can’t be the only player targeted this summer

Leeds were interested in the summer (TeamTalk) but a deal didn’t come to fruition for the Whites.
Now, Liverpool look to be at the front of the queue and are at the stage where they’re prepared to make a bid for the £25,000-a-week star
