Caglar Soyuncu is in line to be offered a new contract at Leicester City, according to the Daily Mail – in a report that may be of interest to Liverpool.

Soyuncu was outstanding on Saturday as the Foxes won the FA Cup for the first time in their history at Wembley.

The 24-year-old has proved to be an amazing signing for Leicester after a difficult start to life at the King Power Stadium.

And unsurprisingly, it was recently claimed that his performances were attracting attention. The Daily Mirror reported in late March that he was one of the names on the Reds’ radar as they consider strengthening their centre-back options this summer.

It remains to be seen if Jurgen Klopp’s side plan to make a move. But it does appear that Leicester are planning to try and tie the Turkey international down.

According to the Daily Mail, he is one of the players in line for a new deal.

His current contract expires in 2023 (via Transfermarkt). So it looks to be a good move to address his future before it becomes more of a talking point.

Liverpool will surely still be on the lookout for new defenders this summer. And with Soyuncu – who earns £45,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – continuing to impress, he is surely one name that will remain on the Reds’ radar.

But Leicester are seemingly looking to bring an end to any speculation before it can really gain any momentum.
