Report: Liverpool star 'agitated' over lack of game time, has made feelings known to Jurgen Klopp

90Min claim Joe Gomez has told Jurgen Klopp he is not happy about his lack of Liverpool game time – and that he could look for a move in January.

Gomez, 24, miseed the majority of last season after suffering a long-term knee injury – as did Virgil van Dijk. But the latter has returned to the side.

Meanwhile, 11-time England international Gomez has been forced to wait for his chance to play regularly again. Joel Matip has started most games.

On Sunday, Ibrahima Konate was a surprise selection alongside van Dijk – with both Matip and Gomez benched. Gomez has played six times in 21-22.

Four of those six games have been appearances from the bench. The other two include the win over AC Milan, and the Cup win against Norwich City.

Now, 90Min say he is worried about his chances of making the England squad ahead of the 2022 World Cup. He has informed Klopp he is ‘agitated’.

Indeed, the report also states that the £75k-a-week (Spotrac) is not looking to leave but if the situation does not improve by January – he might do so.

Gomez frustrated: Does Liverpool defender deserve more game time?

It must be tricky for Gomez because he has not done anything wrong. Injury came at the worst time, given his brilliant form beforehand.

What must be puzzling for Gomez is that van Dijk has returned to the starting XI but he has been forced to watch Liverpool from the bench.

Perhaps, he just needs a break, an injury to go his way – or to start to stand out in training sessions again. He and van Dijk were excellent in 19-20.
