Mo Salah’s contract situation at Liverpool has dragged on throughout the season without moving much closer to a resolution.
It seems that there had almost been an acceptance that it would not become a distraction during the run-in, with everyone focused on trophies.
Then, at the end of the season, it could be revisited, but the Sunday World claim that Liverpool are about to make a final offer to Salah.

They seem to feel that a deal can be done including guaranteed payments and substantial bonuses based on the team’s success.
That is perhaps the only way to get Salah towards the money he is after, without smashing the club’s wage structure.
And if it is related to success, then if Salah is getting the cash, it means that the club is doing well – and everyone should be happy.

Perhaps if Liverpool win two, three, or four trophies, it would hammer home to Salah that he really is at the best possible club at the peak of his career.
The traditional Spanish giants are not the force they were, either financially or on the pitch and English clubs could well clean up again this year.
Will Salah really walk away from all that, when push comes to shove? It is not a distraction right now and maybe what happens in the run-in will way him, but the situation needs sorting in the summer.
