Report: Liverpool reach transfer breakthrough and agree to sign Fabio Carvalho
Liverpool might have had to play a patient game all day but they have finally agreed a deal with Fulham to sign young attacking star, Fabio Carvalho.
Talks have been progressing all day with the Cottagers and Liverpool and now, late in the day, it appears a breakthrough has come. According to Sky’s live blog this evening (21:46, 31/01/2021), Liverpool have now agreed a deal with Fulham to bring Carvalho to Merseyside.
Crucially, however, the Reds will allow the Fulham starle to stay with the Championship club until the end of the season.
The Athletic added to Sky’s claims by saying a medical has already been taking place in London this evening.
There is no mention of a fee involved for Carvalho on the blog. However, Liverpool were known to be keen to avoid a tribunal, so it appears they have come to an agreement with the Cottagers. Carvalho has been outstanding for Marco Silva’s men this season.
After initially bursting onto the scene last season, he has played a crucial role in helping Fulham top the table this term.
TBR’s View: Business Done For Liverpool
A window that started with nobody looking likely to come in at all has ended brilliantly for the Reds.
Signing Luis Diaz was the showpiece, but Carvalho is an equally impressive signing. He is one of the standout talents in European football and Liverpool will be hoping for big things. All in all, this has been a fine window for the Reds.
