Liverpool will be in the market for new recruits during the summer and Alessandro Bastoni is on their list of targets, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Reds are set to relinquish their Premier League title with nothing more than a whimper and the summer looks a big one for Jurgen Klopp and the football club.
Although injuries have decimated the ranks this season the squad depth has been showcased as below-par during a pretty traumatic season for the Anfield-based giants.

Defensive reinforcements are almost certain to be sought. Liverpool added Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies to their ranks in January, with the former currently a mainstay in the team.
Even if they do sign the Turkish star permanently, there have to be some question marks over the long-term future of Joel Matip who simply can’t stop getting injured.
At 21 Bastoni is a player who could come into the Liverpool dressing room ahead of his very best years. He’d be the ideal type to provide competition for Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez during 2021/22.
The youngster has played 32 times in all competitions this season, scoring four goals in Antonio Conte’s title-chasing team.
The report suggests that Liverpool would be willing to part with £43 million but that Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also keen to land the exciting Italian talent.
TBR View: Bastoni could be a masterstroke by FSG
Plenty of Reds supporters aren’t happy with the club’s hierarchy and frankly, they need to back Klopp with some serious talent this summer.
Bastoni seems like a nice fit for Liverpool and he’d bolster the defensive ranks considerably ahead of next season.

His best years are ahead of him and he’s already collected three caps for the national team, despite his tender years.
