According to Tutto Mercato Web, Liverpool plan to submit a €100m (£85m) bid for Barcelona wonderkid Pedri, who Jürgen Klopp is a huge fan of.
What’s the story?
Well, TMW believe Liverpool will send an offer for Pedri, who Barcelona paid just €5m (£4.3m) for in 2020.
The 18-year-old is described as a reincarnation of Andres Iniesta and Xavi in the report.
TMW add that Klopp believes Pedri will be an ideal player for his set-up at Liverpool, either next season, or even this term if a January move becomes possible.
The teenager scored four goals and provided six assists in 52 appearances last season, before featuring heavily at EURO 2020.
Pedri started all six of Spain’s games at the tournament, as Luis Enrique’s side reached the semi-final.
Should this move materialise, it would see Liverpool smash their club-record transfer fee of £75m, used to sign Virgil van Dijk of course.
Liverpool must get Pedri now

If there was ever a time to poach a potential Ballon d’Or winner from a European giant, it’s now.
Barcelona’s financial issues have been well documented. They are in such a poor position that they weren’t even allowed to renew Lionel Messi’s contract.
Additionally, Barcelona practically gave players away this summer.
Junior Firpo – who they paid £27.5m for – was sold to Leeds for just £12.8m.

Antoine Griezmann was even loaned to Atletico Madrid, just to get his wages off the books according to Sky Sports.
In that respect, Liverpool have to be banging Barcelona’s door down for Pedri now, while they’re in a vulnerable financial situation.
If the Reds allow the Spanish giants to recover, it will become even harder to lure Pedri to Anfield.
