Report: Liverpool on red alert over move for Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic

According to the Daily Mail, both Liverpool and Manchester United are on ‘red alert’ when it comes to Chelsea winger, Christian Pulisic.

The USA winger has fallen foul of new Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel’s ruthless rotation system and seems to be one of the high profile players who is a little out of favour.

And according to the Mail, that has put officials at both Anfield and Old Trafford on alert.

Pulisic had become a key figure under former Blues boss, Frank Lampard. After signing for Chelsea for around £57m, the speedy wide forward put down his marker at Stamford Bridge with a number of fine displays.

Indeed, following a 3-1 loss to Manchester City, USA legend Alexi Lalas branded Pulisic ‘too good’ for the Blues, insisting the former Dortmund man had looked ‘incredible’ during the loss.

Liverpool, then, could well see Pulisic as a brilliant piece of summer business if he’s available. He’s someone Jurgen Klopp will be well aware of, and while the future of Mo Salah is up in the air, Pulisic could well represent an ideal replacement.

The only real way you can see Liverpool landing this deal is if Pulisic himself starts to become unhappy and look to force a move.

Chelsea have a real asset on their hands with the USA ace. And given they paid nigh on £60m for him, they aren’t simply going to allow him to join a PL rival for a nominal fee.

It’s certainly one for Liverpool to keep an eye on and he would slot in nicely. But Chelsea hold all the cards really.
