Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Inter Milan are exploring the possibility of signing Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum this summer, with the Dutchman’s contract due to expire at the end of next season.
Wijnaldum, 29, remains a crucial part of the Liverpool side and has clocked up an impressive 38 appearances in all competitions – scoring five goals. The 61-time Netherlands international remains first choice under Jurgen Klopp.
However, the former Newcastle and PSV Eindhoven ace is now entering the final 12 months of his current deal – and that could see Wijnaldum’s future enter doubt. Inter Milan have now been linked with a move to sign the midfielder.
The report claims Inter would have to spend more than £26million to sign Wijnaldum, with Antonio Conte renowned for raiding the Premier League to boost his Inter side – Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen and Ashley Young, for example.

TBR’s view – Liverpool need to keep Wijnaldum, at least for next season
The Dutch ace has been excellent this season, and is in line to be named in the Premier League team of the season. So, surely Liverpool need to keep Wijnaldum, even it is for another season.
Indeed, Wijnaldum can still offer Liverpool plenty of quality for the next few seasons and The Reds need to agree a deal with the Dutch ace. However, a move to Serie A could suit Wijnaldum, given the slower style of play in Inter.
