Liverpool have made an approach with regards to the availability of Brazilian wonderkid Talles Magno, according to Yahoo Esportes. As of yet, however, there hasn’t been an official offer from the Premier League champions.
The report claims that the aim for Liverpool at the moment is to gather more information on the youngster to grasp whether or not the prospect of signing him is realistic.
Magno is currently at Vasco da Gama and the Brazilian outfit have the security of a £45 million release clause on their prized youngster.
Despite the hefty release clause, it is thought that Vasco might be willing to do business at a far lower price than his current valuation.
It is considered that an offer in the region of £18 million would tempt the Brazilian’s into a sale, given the financial predicament the proud club finds themselves in.
At the minute the discussions are tentative with Liverpool hoping to get a feel for what makes Magno tick.
With that in mind, a deal looks some way off right now but he could represent a decent addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Magno has come through the ranks at Vasco playing twice for the first-team in the Copa Sudamericana, registering one assist against Oriente.
TBR View – Magno could complement quota of youngsters nicely at Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp has played a blinder during 2019/20 when it comes to utilising the club’s younger talents and Magno could thrive under his management.
Curtis Jones, Neco Williams and Harvey Elliott have all made the step up on occasions and the future looks extremely bright.
Liverpool do lack firepower and adding a young, hungry striker perhaps wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.
Magno has three goals in six games for the Brazil under-19 outfit and has found goals easy to come by at youth level.
For now, the interest is nothing more substantial but at £18 million he could prove a decent investment for the future.
Klopp is superb at making his players feel ten feet tall and under his wing, Magno could eventually thrive under the German at Anfield.
