Report: Liverpool make contact for Raiola client who can leave this summer for ‘under’ £70m
Liverpool have reportedly contacted Mino Raiola over Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
90min claim that the Reds, along with Chelsea and Manchester City, have recently spoken to Raiola over the 21-year-old forward. Haaland can leave Dortmund in the next 12 months for ‘under’ £70m.
The Norwegian attacker will be one of the most sought-after players in Europe when his release clause activates in 2022. Haaland has started the season strong with Dortmund, with the youngster scoring five goals in the first four Bundesliga games.
With the futures of Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah up in the air, Liverpool could be an option for Haaland. After all, the striker is one of the best in his position in world football. Indeed, his young age only adds to the Scandinavian forward’s value.
Moreover, Liverpool’s case to sign Haaland could be stronger than most clubs given both their regular success in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League as well as their record in the competition.
Haaland has made it clear in his career that he wants to play regularly in the competition and win it. And Liverpool’s record as the most successful English club in Champions League history will be appealing to the 21-year-old.
And with the futures of two key attackers uncertain, Haaland could be the perfect play for Jurgen Klopp to sign to replace either Firmino or Salah should one of these names depart Anfield.
