Liverpool have placed Bremer at the top of their shopping list, with the Daily Mirror reporting that the Torino centre-back is their number one summer target.

The Reds continue to struggle with defensive issues. January signing Ben Davies joined several of his teammates on his sidelines for Saturday’s clash with Leicester.

Jurgen Klopp’s side did sign two defenders in the final hours of the January window, with Ozan Kabak joining Davies in arriving through the Anfield door.

But it appears that he wishes to strengthen further at the end of the campaign. According to the Daily Mirror, Bremer is his number one target.

The 23-year-old has made 18 starts in Serie A this season. And the Mirror suggests that Torino are bracing themselves for offers for the Brazilian.

Interestingly, the Mirror adds that he is valued at less than £10 million. So bringing him to Merseyside is unlikely to eat up all of Klopp’s budget by any means.

And the report suggests that he is seen as a potential partner for Virgil van Dijk when the Dutchman returns.

TBR View: Bremer may jump at chance to join Liverpool

It appears that Bremer is set to have a host of offers on the table in the summer. However, there are few that should appeal to him more than joining Liverpool.

The problems the Reds have endured mean that there is an opportunity for a player to come in and stamp some authority on a role in Klopp’s backline.

And with several Brazilian players already at the club, Bremer will surely be tempted by the chance to head to the Premier League.
