Liverpool are keeping tabs on Real Madrid winger and Brazilian starlet, Rodrygo, according to Spanish outlet, Diaro Gol.

The 20-year-old has been missing of late with a hamstring injury. However, prior to that, he had played a big part in Madrid’s campaign, playing 11 La Liga games and six times in the Champions League.

The report claims that Liverpool are aware of Rodrygo and like him as a player, with Madrid open to selling as long as the Reds put down around £50m to try and land him.

Both Madrid and Barcelona are said to be open to player sales this summer. The pandemic has ravaged finances, although Los Blancos still harness hopes of landing the likes of Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Selling Rodrygo could well help fund that move, although Zinedine Zidane has recently said he still has Rodrygo in his plans.

Liverpool are looking for new attacking players this summer. Despite defensive issues, there is a worry things have become stale at the top of the pitch, meaning a new forward is almost a certainty.

TBR View: Rodrygo hugely talented and suited to Liverpool’s formation

When adding attacking players, the Reds are always likely to want someone who can be versatile. And Rodrygo is that.

He can play both wings and also drop in as a ten if needed. That could be crucial for Liverpool, especially given their formation with three attackers and sometimes another joining in.

Rodrygo is a fine young talent. The only issue is the fee. £50m seems a lot in the current climate, especially when Liverpool were scraping around for funds in January.
