German newspaper SportBild have claimed that Liverpool are ‘keeping an eye’ on Chelsea teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi as his future at Stamford Bridge continues to be a talking point.

The 18-year-old was the subject of numerous bids from German champions Bayern Munich in January. One is believed to have reached Chelsea’s £35million asking price (Sky Sports), but the Blues were reluctant to let him leave.

Now, the new report claims Hudson-Odoi is also being targeted by Borussia Dortmund – the same team who have sold Christian Pulisic to Chelsea for £57.6million. It is also claimed Liverpool are interested.

Hudson-Odoi, who has been called up to the England squad by Gareth Southgate to take on Czech Republic and Montenegro over the coming days, has a contract at Chelsea until the summer of 2020.

It remains to be seen what Hudson-Odoi’s asking price will be, but it will surely be more for Liverpool with Chelsea unlikely to want to lose the English winger to a direct Premier League rival.

TBR’s view

Right now, Hudson-Odoi is one of Europe’s best young attacking talents. He has shown just that with some excellent form in the Europa League this season – scoring four goals and creating two more in eight games.

Chelsea have to do all they can to keep Hudson-Odoi. But if they are to sell him, Bayern or Dortmund should be the first two clubs they consider letting him go to. Liverpool, or any other Premier League side, should be the last.

Unless Liverpool come up with an enormous offer and Chelsea cannot refuse, Chelsea must reject any deal.
