Liverpool have been joined by Manchester City and Manchester United in the race to sign Torino star Gleison Bremer, according to Fanta Calcio.

Bremer, 24, is quickly developing a reputation in Italian football as a goalscoring defender. In 83 outings for Torino, he has clocked up 11 goals.

Jurgen Klopp is said to be an admirer of Bremer, ever since Liverpool played against Torino in a pre-season friendly back in the summer of 2018.

The Reds are well-stocked at centre-back, but clearly they are still looking at options. Manchester United and Manchester City are now also keen.

Inter Milan and Juventus are looking to keep the uncapped Brazilian in Italian football, with Juve proposing the chance to stay in the city of Turin.

The report states that Torino could consider offers in the region of £17million and £21million. He only has a contract until June 2023.

Which club suits Bremer – Liverpool, Manchester City, or another?

As stated, Liverpool have options. Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are back, Joel Matip is fit. Ibrahima Konate was lured to the club in the summer.

Nat Phillips played in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night, it says it all. Liverpool have limited spending power, centre-backs are not needed.

Manchester United have cover for Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire in the form of Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly. But the latter duo could go.

Manchester City also have options, but perhaps lack the depth of Liverpool or United. Aymeric Laporte, Ruben Dias and John Stones are first choice.

Injury-prone Nathan Ake is also an option – but perhaps another centre-back could be needed at The Etihad in the coming months.
