Premier League giants Liverpool are keen to sign exciting Santos talent Angelo Gabriel, according to a Sport Witness exclusive.
The reigning champions are set to relinquish their grasp on the title just 12 months after their maiden win.
As a result, some new recruits will be identified during the summer and Jurgen Klopp’s squad definitely needs reinforcing.
Liverpool are in a race with Real Madrid to complete the signing of Gabriel who is deemed as one of Brazilian football’s finest talents.

Angelo made his debut for Santos as a 15-year-old, with the teenager taking his Copa Libertadores bow on Tuesday night against Deportivo Lara.
The youngster signed a first professional contract as recent as December and his release clause is set at £55 million.
Gabriel has the ability to play on either flank and boasts an array of tricks and flicks. His style has been compared to that of Rodrygo who left Santos to sign for Real Madrid in 2018.
The 20-year-old is a regular in Zinedine Zidane’s squad and has registered six assists during 2020/21.
Liverpool’s need for new players has been highlighted with a horrific run of form which has left their title defence in tatters.
Klopp has overseen just three wins since the turn of the year and six straight defeats have occurred at Anfield.
TBR View: Squad depth not good enough and Gabriel could help
The likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri have perhaps come to the end of the road at Liverpool.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has suffered from some injury problems and will perhaps get another chance but quite simply Liverpool’s fringe players haven’t been good enough.

Klopp’s term has been decimated and ultimately the lack of quality in reserve has cost them a shot at defending their title.
With that in mind, the summer looks massive for the Reds and Gabriel would represent a step in the right direction.
At 16 he probably won’t make an immediate impact. He does, however, have the sort of quality that can excite from the bench.
Beating Real Madrid to land the talented teen would represent an exciting start to the summer transfer window.
