The print edition of Libero reported this week, as relayed by SempreInter, that Liverpool are interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic this summer – and have opened talks with the Croatian star’s agent.
Brozovic, 27, has been first choice under Antonio Conte this season – starting 23 of Inter Milan’s 26 Serie A appearances. He has scored three goals, and netted in both Milan derbies. He even captained Inter in the 4-2 win over Milan in February.
Upon news that Liverpool had contacted Brozovic’s agent over a move, Inter are opening negotiations over a new contract for the Croatia international in order to remove a release clause in his contract – which stands at £52million.
However, a move to Liverpool could be in the offing if Brozovic goes against signing a new deal with Inter. His current contract expires in the summer of 2022, but whether he is worth more than £50million, remains to be seen.

TBR’s view – Brozovic would be an excellent replacement for Wijnaldum
Gini Wijnaldum, who has coincidentally been linked with an Inter Milan, is a crucial part of the Liverpool side but with the Dutchman entering the final 12 months of his Reds contract – Liverpool may need a replacement.
With Adam Lallana expected to leave in the coming months, Brozovic would be an excellent signing given the Croatian star is more than capable of scoring from deep – something which Liverpool do somewhat lack. A top signing.
