According to Fanatik, Liverpool are keen to sign Abdulkadir Omur. However, the 20-year-old winger is unlikely to be granted a work permit this summer. What’s more, current club Trabzonspor are reluctant to see their No. 10 go. Therefore, Liverpool will try to sign Omur this summer, and immediately loan him back to the Turkish club.
Omur is a player with huge potential. He enjoyed a fine campaign in the Super Lig last time out. The four-cap Turkey international registered five goals and nine assists in 29 league outings. His future almost certainly lies beyond the confines of Turkish football.
Jurgen Klopp’s apparent interest in the wide man suggests that he is already looking ahead to the Reds’ future. The reigning European champions’ squad is already well-stocked with exciting attacking talents, but if the club’s current success is to be sustained they must have long term transfer targets and players to develop.
Omur could be part of the next generation of Liverpool stars. Klopp will be desperate to construct a legacy for himself at Anfield, and he can only do that by constantly building successful teams. Signing Omur now and loaning him back out to continue his development is a smart move to ensure that progress towards the next edition of Klopp’s squad is already underway.
