Liverpool are reportedly interested in a potential January deal for Lille defender Sven Botman.
According to French publication Foot Mercato, the Reds actually made contact with the player’s agent last month regarding a possible switch to Anfield.

It is claimed Inter Milan are also in the frame. Antonio Conte’s side have supposedly made enquiries over the 20-year-old.
Lille are said to be willing to sell Botman for around £27 million due to the Covid-19 pandemic, despite the fact they see his true value nearer to £45 million.
Even if they sell him for £27 million, Lille would still make around three times what they paid Ajax for him only six months ago.

So far this season, Botman has made 22 appearances, establishing himself alongside Jose Fonte at the heart of the defence.
He’s made a good impact for his new club, helping Lille sit top of Ligue 1 and qualify for the last 32 of the Europa League.
TBR’s View – Another gem for Klopp to develop?
Botman has certainly made an impression over at Lille and could well become another top defender hailing from the Netherlands.

Since he’s only just joined Lille a January move may be unlikely, but everyone knows the situation for Liverpool – they need a new central defender with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez injured and Joel Matip’s fitness record far from perfect.
Botman could potentially be a great addition, and another player for Klopp to take under his wing and turn into a potential star.
