The Sun have provided what can be considered the most controversial report of the morning, with the suggestion that Liverpool are targeting a move for Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have been busy in the transfer market so far this summer with the signings of James Milner and Danny Ings and they are seemingly in no mood to hang around.
Reports suggest that the Reds have opened talks with Spurs regarding a £10m deal to sign the promising Algerian youngster, who made 26 appearances as he built on his breakthrough Premier League season. Alongside Ryan Mason, he became an integral figure of the Lilywhites midfield.

Spurs do not want to lose the Algerian, but Brendan Rodgers is apparently ‘desperate’ for him to form a new-look midfield partnership with James Milner. Having been cleared to spend after surviving a review, the Northern Irishman is expected to test the London outfit’s resolve.
Interestingly, this comes just a week after Bentaleb told The Telegraph that he is frustrated that negotiations over a new contract have been dragging on for months. A deal that at first seems out of the question, may actually be a distinct possibility, but if he was to leave, Liverpool will face fierce competition from elsewhere in Europe.
