Report: Liverpool in advanced talks to sign Bournemouth star Ryan Fraser

TalkSPORT have claimed that Liverpool are in ‘advanced talks’ to complete a surprise January swoop for AFC Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser, which could turn out to be a swap deal including Harry Wilson.

Fraser, 25, is currently in the final 12 months of his contract at The Vitality Stadium and if Bournemouth are to bring in some cash for their electric-paced winger – they will need to sell him in the upcoming market, or let him go for free next summer.

The Scotland international was linked with a move to England’s biggest clubs including Arsenal in the summer, after the starred for Eddie Howe’s side last term. Indeed, the diminutive attacker scored eight goals and laid on a huge 15 assists.

This season, he has struggled to replicate that form with just one goal and two assists in 11 games. However, Jurgen Klopp can see past that and it is believed it will cost in the region of £10million and £15million to land Fraser.

However, Bournemouth could also look to make Wales international Wilson’s loan from Liverpool a permanent one at the expense of Fraser. Wilson, 22, has been in stunning form on loan at Bournemouth, scoring four goals.

TBR’s view – Fraser is top quality cover for Mane and Salah

Liverpool need a big squad as they continue to fight in the Champions League, Carabao Cup, Club World Cup, FA Cup and of course the Premier League. Bringing in cover for Mo Salag and Sadio Mane is crucial.

The problem Liverpool have is whether players will be interested in joining Liverpool, knowing full well that they will be back-up to Liverpool’s front three – which is arguably the best attacking trio in European football. Fraser seems keen, though.
